Expert Opinion
America’s favourite truck has landed in Australia, delivering a rugged tow monster!
F150’s excellent reputation is rubbing off on thousands of buyers in Australia.
The Ford F150 is the best-selling American pickup truck, trusted by hundreds of thousands of drivers every year. Here in Australia, the blue oval brand launched this back in 2023 and has seen its popularity grow in 2024, thanks to its tough looks and an appetite to get the job done.
On the inside, it's spacious and packed with features that many work truck owners really can’t find elsewhere. The local F150 comes with a powerful 3.5-litre V6 engine, built to tow up to 4.5 tonnes, outdoing a few other large pickup trucks in the market. Combine that with the large bed in the back, and there is plenty of room to throw whatever you need for the worksite. That’s what many buyers of the F150 value compared to the more popular Ranger, and it’s at times small bed capacity.
The F150 is built on a strong frame with a powerful drivetrain with off-road features, which help it to perform well on and off-road surfaces. With such strong towing credentials, many are making it onto Australian roads, including in our suburbs and regions. Given its international reputation, the local popularity appears to be growing with time, too.
