The Hyundai Inster is the smallest fully electric SUV, bringing a fresh boxier styling to Australian roads. Based on the Korean-market hatchback, the Casper, it features distinctive pixel-style lighting and a boxy look. It is Hyundai's most affordable EV entry, targeting city drivers who want style and drivability in tight city spaces.
On the inside, the Inster confuses its tiny size with a surprisingly practical cabin layout. All four seats can fold completely flat, turning the car into a mobile lounge. The rear seats also slide and recline, so owners have a choice of rear legroom or boot space depending on the day’s needs.
Tech is also surprisingly high-spec for a city car in this segment. The dashboard has twin 10.25-inch screens for drive information and infotainment. It comes with Hyundai’s SmartSense safety suite of features and Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capabilities, making it easy for the car to power electrical devices. This itself is quite a rare feature for such a small, budget-conscious electric vehicle.
