Expert Opinion
Power and range boost brings the Solterra back into the EV game in Australia.
Now packs a 252 kW AWD system, 566 km Range, and 1500 kg towing to help appeal to more Aussie families.
The new Subaru Solterra has now got a major mid-life refresh for the brand's first all-electric family SUV in the Australian market. It keeps rugged SUV styling, similar to Subaru’s current adventure-ready lineup. The refreshed model packs a tougher look while focusing on the EV’s efficiency.
Built on the e-Subaru Global Platform, which is shared with the Toyota bZ4X, the Solterra is engineered from the ground up as a pure electric car, which adds to its efficiency and good range. This Solterra’s EV platform gives the inside a flat floor and is packaged quite well, giving the cabin loads of space for families and passengers.
Most importantly, the latest update fixes issues in the first generation by bringing more power, EV range, and better charging speeds. Subaru has also reduced pricing, making its signature Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive EV far more competitive against electric family SUV rivals in Australia.
